This walk has been upgraded from 'leisurely' to 'moderate' because several sections have become very muddy and slippery after recent rains. Although the route is flat, walking poles are recommended to make it easier to negotiate the slippery sections.
This flat walk starts from The Carpenter’s Arms at Parker’s Green near Hadlow. We pass through fields, woodland and alongside the River Bourne to Golden Green. Hadlow Tower is prominent during the first part of the walk. The Tower is the only remaining part of Hadlow Castle and is the tallest folly in the UK. After Golden Green we return through orchards and along farm tracks, some with metalled surfaces. The route includes short sections of quiet road and no stiles or hills. Dogs welcome and will need to be on a short lead when passing through any fields with sheep.
Breakfast is served at The Carpenter's Arms from 08.00 (carpentersarmstonbridge.co.uk).
Nibble break part way through the walk (bring own refreshments).
If you plan to have lunch at The Carpenter's Arms (01732 850307), please mention Tonbridge & Malling Ramblers when booking so that our group can sit together.
