Here is an opportunity to work off all that turkey and pudding in the fresh air. This will be a leisurely/moderate walk around Pennington Flash. From the car park, we walk through the woods up to the Bridgewater Canal, taking in the marina and Byrom Wood before returning to finish our walk on the path alongside the Flash. (Our actual route through the woods will be determined by the weather on the day.) Risk assessment: A flat walk with one minor ascent up to the Bridgewater Canal. Good paths but they can be muddy after rain. The group will be crossing two B roads. No stiles.
Please contact the walk leader if you wish to bring a dog. Please let the walk leader know of any health issues they should be aware of.
Pennington Flash main car park, St. Helens Road, Leigh (opposite the Robin Hood pub which is adjacent to Leigh Fire Station). The car park is 700 yards along the road into the Flash. Parking is NOT permitted anywhere along this road. £2.50 all day pay and display, cash or card.
