Overview

We start at Pepperbox Hill and head down to Downton via Barford Down. A mooch around the Moot. Then pick up the Avon Valley Path to Charlton All Saints before heading uphill to the start. There will be 2 stops, bring drinks, picnic with you.

The turn off the A36 to the carpark at Pepperbox Hill is not well signed. The sign is on the road, very last minute. Very small signage, see photo. The route to the carpark is up a bumpy track which looks a bit like a bridle way. It is not tarmacked.

Meet to car share / convoy at Stannah Parking Bays, Anton Mill Rd Andover, please note that the meet time is the time that we intend to leave the car park. If leaving your car there, please put 'Andover Ramblers' note in the windscreen area. Parking by permission of Stannah. If you intend to go directly to the start point then inform the walk leader before hand in case of cancellation etc

Pepperbox Hill car park. Off the A36 heading south from Salisbury, continue past the turn off for West Grimstead. You come up a hill and the sign is on the entrance to CP on left. Very narrow. Sign is for Pepperbox Hill with the National Trust logo.
