Overview

A small hillock takes us to the fields where we join the Icknield Way Trail along the road for a short stretch.  This takes us to a path which will give us some lovely views across the Stocks Golf Club towards Ashridge.  We then climb some more as we go into Aldbury Nowers Nature Reserve.  Here there is a bit of a short steep climb but steps are provided.  Gradually we keep going up having joined The Ridgeway Trail.  We go along Grim's Ditch towards Brook's Statnalls Wood.  A final climb gives us stunning views across the Aylesbury Plain and to Ivinghoe Beacon and Ivinghoe windmill.  Then we can enjoy a well deserved downhill section straight back to the carpark.
