This walk is a shorter Winter Warmer, so you'll still be able to go and do some Christmas shopping afterwards!
The route offers a nice 5 miles of undulating terrain from the small village of Pulverbatch, with it's impressive earthwork castle, heading across fields in a nice slice of countryside to Cothercott Hill, with it's extensive remains of Barytes Mining. Fascinating!
(Your walk leader will no doubt keep on going on about these historical features, but feel free to ignore him).
We'll then head back across fields again via another motte and bailey at Wilderley before heading back to Pulverbatch.
The pub is particularly cosy at Pulverbatch but this has, in no way, determined the location of this walk.
