A walking group for young people in the Shropshire area. We have walks on most weekends, mid-week in the summer as well as socials and weekends away too.
This walk is a linear walk from Shrewsbury to Bridges with an overnight stop at either a campsite or youth hostel. We will walk from Bridges to Church Stretton on Sunday morning to catch the train back to Shrewsbury.
We will meet in Quarry Park and head out of town along the Shropshire Way, passing the official start point of the Shropshire Way marked by a buzzard sculpture.
We will walk through the suburbs of Shrewsbury and out to Lyth Hill where we leave the urban sprawl behind and continue through fields and along paths and tracks towards Rattlinghope.
We will walk at a leisurely pace and aim to cover the distance in around 7 hours or so.
There are no toilet facilities or cafes/shops along the route on either Saturday or Sunday
Accommodation for the evening will be at either Brow Farm Campsite in Rattlinghope or the YHA in Bridges. If anyone of feeling particularly indulgent, The Bridges pub also has rooms available.
*In the event of bad weather the weekend will not go ahead. Please bear this in mind when making accommodation arrangements
