Overview

A fairly easy, gently undulating, walk from Repton to Ticknall and back. We will follow good footpaths and tracks through open countryside with wide-ranging views and some woods without any stiles. There will probably be some muddy bits.  Public toilets are available at the lunch stop.

After passing through Milton our coffee stop will be at Foremark Church which was open on my recce and has benches. We then pass through the grounds of Foremark School with its lake and attractive buildings. We reach Ticknall after walking through Heath Wood and past Seven Sprouts Farm and a small pool. The lunch stop will be at the village hall in Ticknall also with benches under trees. We return to Repton via Hangman's Stone and partially along the National Forest Way. The Red Lion in the High St. will be open for those wanting liquid refreshment afterwards.

We will park in the car park of The Mount Pleasant Inn which is now closed. Drive up to the top of Mount Pleasant Road and where it bends left - you will see the new road name Holloway - go straight on instead and the cp is on the right past the Inn.
