6.5 miles at a moderate pace with minor elevations only, but could be muddy in places.
Route: we go along the River Rom, then visit the Chase Nature Reserve along the River Beam, cross Eastbrookend Country Park, the Wantz Stream and Old Dagenham Park. These make up the largest area of open space in London and have a remote atmosphere.
Lunch: picnic only as no facilities, but there is a friendly pub at the end; it does not serve food.
Drop-out point: possibility of buses towards the latter part of the walk.
Travel: from Liverpool Street Station at 10.05 arriving Romford at 10.31, and once there we will wait and allow time for Elizabeth Line trains which take longer, although they are more frequent.
