An approximately 8 mile walk on the Rosneath Peninsula, starting from Kilcreggan and climbing on forest tracks to extensive views at 202 metres from Cloch MacKenny, before dropping down to Gare Loch and following shoreline paths along the Firth of Clyde.
If you wish to come on the walk you must contact the leader ( Mobile no. 07765 048069) by email, text or phone call but no more than 2 weeks in advance and please provide a contact number in case arrangements change.
If the ferry from Gourock to Kilcreggan is cancelled (or in danger of being cancelled) due to adverse weather, an alternative walk from Gourock railway station will be organised.
Meet at 9.15 outside Marks and Spencers Simply Food on the concourse at Glasgow Central, before taking the 9.35 train to Gourock (arriving there at 10.15). Purchase a return to GOUROCK. Note: The leader will meet the group at Gourock railway station. The group will then take the 10.30 CalMac ferry from Gourock to Kilcreggan (arriving there at 10.43). A return ticket for the ferry is £8.30.
The walk will begin and end at Kilcreggan Pier. Ferries back from Kilcreggan at 4.00 and 5.00, connecting with trains back to Central from Gourock at 4.26 and 5.26.
