Starting from the Holly Bush pub in Salt we take a short climb to the top of the hill where we walk tree-lined bridle paths over to Hopton with wonderful views. At Hopton we will have a short break on the village green. Then we set off west over hayfields with far-reaching views north, a short lane walk to the canal and a towpath trek back to the pub.
Apart from the initial hill, it is pretty undulating, with four stiles.
Please bring your own refreshments.
We have been given permission to use up to ten of the spaces in the pub car park, so please consider car-sharing if possible. There is addional on-road parking if necessary.
Please join me in the pub afterwards for a drink. I shall be sampling the chips again, and I can tick off another pub along the A51.
