Saltdean, Rottingdean and the Downs

Starting in Saltdean we follow the coastline to Rottingdean and using a twitten we pass through the centre of Rottingdean. There is then a long and fairly gradual climb out of Rottingdean, followed by a fairly short but steep climb up on to the Downs. On a clear day there are good views towards the sea. We will have a tea/coffee stop and then follow the Downs parallel to the sea before descending back down into Saltdean through suburbia to the starting point. Saltdean is well served with places to eat and drink with newly refurbished public toilets on the seafront.
