Overview

We head north on the A34 then turn left onto Church Lane, turning left on a FP opposite to the village hall. We cross the field and go past Brick House Farm, then follow the edge of the wood and cross a field near to Ash Bank Farm. We enter Lawton Woods and wend our through the trees and bluebells. We walk through an area covered in wild garlic that a little girl walking with her parents christened “the King’s Garlic Wood”!

We climb a bank and then descend to the lake. After walking through the woods we pick up the canal and leave in Little Moss Lane under the railway bridge then cross a field to go through another wood, eventually going under the railway line to rejoin the canal, crossing the playing fields and back for food and drink!
