From Blackburn our walk is along residential streets to reach the River Almond which we will follow until we reach Seafield where we once again walk along residential streets to enter West Lothian's first Local Nature Reserve, created in 2007. Here we will climb to the top of Seafield Law which whist it is a small hill, it has far reaching views in all directions on a clear day. On our return, we will descend the hill & walk beside Easter Inch Moss, an important Lowland peat bog, to reach Blackburn & the start point.
Along the way we will learn a little of the industrial past of these two villages & see an abundance of wildflowers.
The route is mostly on surfaced footpaths & well defined tracks. Please note that there are a couple of small ditches to cross along the riverside path & the vegetation on the way up Seafield Law is tall at this time of year so gaiters & walking poles are recommended.
Unrestricted street parking is available opposite Pinewood School from where our walk will start.
Please contact the walk leader if you wish to attend this walk.
