This route starts in the medieval town of Shifnal, with its fine Tudor buildings followed by a short climb that's rewarded with views from the top of Lodge Hill across farmland, then through woodland to Evelith Mill. We'll continue our walk through King Charles's Wood to the remains of Kemberton Mill and return to Shifnal along a path beside Wesley Brook. We'll stop for a coffee break on the way - so bring a drink and a snack.
After the walk we'll pop into the Anvil Pub for the social bit - just a light lunch, no hot food but a selection of filled rolls, salads, and bar food, sausage rolls, scotch eggs. Dogs are welcome in the pub.
This is a short and social walk with some lane walking and footpaths through woodland and fields. There is a short ascent and a few stiles on the route. After the recent downpours it is likely to be muddy in parts. Dogs are welcome on the walk and in the pub after the walk.
