This is our annual bluebell walk.
The route takes us across the Chesterfield Canal, Lindrick Golf Club and the bottom of Lindrick Dale before returning to the canal. After walking along the towpath, we head to Hawks Wood and Old Spring Wood which were carpeted with wood anemone and bluebells on the pre walk.
Our return to Shireoaks is via the towpath.
The route uses footpaths, bridleways, tracks and the canal towpath.
No real hills , a railway line that is crossed via two stiles and two flights of stairs.
Boots advisable as some paths are rutted and may become muddy in any rain.
No live stock present on the pre-walk so dogs are permitted on leads.
Other things to be aware of, Swans nesting at Turnerwood and cyclists on the tow path.
There will be the usual coffee and lunch stops so please bring your own refreshments.
Also the ice-cream parlour may be open at Turnerwood Bridge.
