The route takes a minor road to St Abbs lighthouse, passing Petttico Wick with views north along the coast. On tracks up and down hills along the edge of the cliffs we make our way back to St Abbs village. There will be a lunch stop at Coldingham Sands before we climb up cliffs again dropping down to further beeches along the way to Eyemouth.
This walk is challenging and strenuous in parts. Some paths are narrow and along the cliff edge.
At this time of year paths, steps and boarded walkways are very slippery and muddy.
It is strongly advised to wear walking boots and use poles.
Bring full winter walking gear for unpredictable weather.
Food for two stops.
This is a dramatic walk at any time of year, with splendid views , wildlife ,along with constantly changing sea and shoreline.
The walk will be at a steady pace allowing time to take in the surroundings without standing for too long in cold weather.
Linear walk, grade B, moderate. Hiking boots and poles are recommended.
