The Pocklington Group are walking the Whitby Way in stages from York to Whitby. The Whitby Way starts at York Minster and finishes at Whitby Abbey, and it is designed to include some of the most interesting pilgrimage places in Yorkshire.
This is a linear walk from Grosmont to Whitby Abbey and the return to Grosmont at the end of the walk will be by train.
This last stage of the Whitby Way follows the Esk Valley Walk closely, with some lovely views over the Esk Valley and towards Whitby Abbey, our final destination. There are some flagstones on the walk which will be slippery if wet.
The return from Whitby will be by train. There is a train at 15.57 from Whitby, the next one is 19.42 (with the chance to explore Whitby). There is also a North Yorkshire Moors train at 17.10 although is a more costly option.
