Overview

This walk will use cross field paths as we walk towards Hunsdon and Wareside, but we will never quite get to either place. We will walk beside the Rivers Ash and Lea and visit Amwell Nature Reserve on the way back to Stanstead Abbotts.

There is an excellent cafe, The Village Cafe, at the entrance to the car park, it will be open for pre walk coffee if required as well post walk refreshments. There are also 3 pubs available for post walk refreshments.

We will meet in the car park off the High Street, Stanstead Abbotts. St. Margaret’s station ( London Liverpool Street to Hertford East) is a 5 minute walk from the start point. There is also the 310 ( Waltham Cross to Hertford) and the 35 (Hertford to Bishop’s Stortford) buses also pass through the villlage. https://www.traveline.info/
