Overview

Meet at Kingsmeadows Car Park at 9.30 a.m or at Stobo Village Hall at 9.50 a.m. Cross the B712, walk past Stobo Home Farm and join the John Buchan Way at the Easton Burn. Follow the JBW past Harrowhope ruined cottage, skirting Hammer Rig and Hammer Knowe. This is a gentle ascent with lovely views over the valley and the hills beyond. Just before the cottage at Stobo Hopehead leave the JBW and head south along the farm/forest track. Follow the track, skirting Hog Knowe, past the loch, and towards Stobo Castle. Return to the Village Hall via the Home Farm.

The route follows mostly good, grassy paths (muddy in places) and a rough, stony farm/forest road on the return.

There will be a coffee stop and a lunch stop.
