Overview

A walk in an area of countryside between Banbury and Chipping Norton, full of twisting valleys cutting through the fields around the picturesque villages of Swerford and Great Tew, the latter often described as one of the most beautiful in England, with more than 80 listed buildings. We visit Swerford, with its historic church and motte and bailey castle above the river Swere. We pass the manor house at Little Tew, then Great Tew, which is surrounded by an attractive parkland estate.
