The walk starts at Tilburstow Hill car park. It descends off the North Downs and heads generally south before heading west and climbing a slight hill to the Bell in Outwood (6 miles). The afternoon walk (4 miles) descends out of Outwood before climbing gradually towards the car park. The first and last sections are a little steep.
We go over a couple of fields which could be muddy, but the majority of the walk is over lanes and footpaths.
Due to Godstone High Street (A25) having subsided, it is recommended that if approaching south on the A22 (or west on the A25), keep on the A22 (or turn left onto the A22) until the next roundabout and take the B2236.
The car park is not very large, so car sharing is recommended.
