Overview

This figure of 8 walk starts and finishes in the pretty village of Tealby. The walk is relatively short but does have quite a lot of up and down. There are good views and, at this time of the year, the hedgerows are spectacular as are the wild flower meadows in the village.

We will have the usual coffee stop and lunch will be in the churchyard of the old "Ramblers Church" above Walesby (benches). We shall be using the third section of the Viking Way this year and a couple of quiet lanes.

There are sheep and deer so dogs on leads please. There are no stiles.

At the finish we can have a drink at the kings Arms which has a large garden.

Take the A46 Lincoln by-pass and stay on the A46 marked Market Rasen/Grimsby. After Faldingwoth, at the T-junction, turn right onto the A631, go through Middle Rasen, then fork right (A 631) into Market Rasen. Drive through then under the railway bridge. At the lights, turn immediate left (B1203). This now takes you to Tealby. In the village, look for a sign to the Kings Arms on your right and turn right down Cow Lane into the old village. At the bottom, by the garden of the Kings Arms, veer left and park up in the road near the old Methodist chapel. Allow 1 hour from Newark.
