Come along and try one of Telford's very popular 23 new waymarked Coronation Walks. Starting in the historic old market town of Newport, the route follows a part of the old Newport Canal that is still in water, it crosses fields into the picturesque old village of Edgmond and descends through an interesting quarry. It returns to Newport using a mixture of quiet lanes and field paths. All the Coronation Walks are designed to showcase Telford's fascinating history, local wildlife sites or outstanding local green spaces, some showcase all of these. They were designed by the Friends of the Telford T50 Trail, which includes many Ramblers walk leaders and members, and funded by a grant from Telford & Wrekin Council's Coronation Legacy Fund. This walk is open to all and an ideal introduction to walking with a group.
