A scenic walk on the edge of the North Yorks Moors National Park, including a visit to ‘the Great Yorkshire Forest’, Dalby Forest.
We head west out of Thornton-le-Dale across farmland taking in views across the vale of Pickering, before turning north into Howl Dale Wood. We go through the wood, gently climbing along a rough track, before heading back to farmland. We cross the road before heading into Dalby Forest.
We head through the woods down into Low Dalby village where we will have lunch either by Low Dalby or the main visitor centre. After lunch we take the track through the woods heading south. We exit the woods onto pasture land and follow the stream past the fish farm and back into Thornton-le-Dale.
