A moderate walk of about 7.25 miles, generally level or undulating, with one short, steep climb. There are around 20 stiles, some quite challenging. Expect some surface mud and bring poles if you use them.
The walk, which is mainly on field paths, includes some delightful woodland, a splendid church at Hanbury (not to be confused with Hanbury in Warwickshire) and a chance to see the interesting Fauld Crater. It is a fitting time to visit the area and the memorial, close to the eightieth anniversary of the disaster.
Cows are grazed in many of the fields. However, they are expected to be over-wintered in barns on the date of the walk, and if not, fencing is provided to keep them off the footpaths.
Guests please contact the walk leader if you wish to join this walk.
We are sorry, but only registered assistance dogs are permitted on our walks.
