Vale of White Horse Ramblers are a friendly group who walk mid-week and weekends in southern Oxfordshire. Highlights are the Ridgeway, the Thames Path, and the Uffington White Horse.
A bus friendly linear walk along the Greenway from the bus stop at Didcot Railway Station to the bus stop in the Marketplace, Wantage. This walk covers the Greenway walking/cycling route opened during COVID. We leave Didcot via an elevated disused railway line to Upton, then over the Downs to the Harwell Research Campus then pass above the Hendreds and on to Ardington and finally along part of the Vale Way to Wantage. Didcot is easily accessible via bus from Wantage, Abingdon and Oxford. Likewise, buses return to all these places from Wantage. If more convenient, park for free in the Manor Road car park in Wantage and catch the X36 bus from Wantage Marketplace to Didcot Railway Station. Please check bus schedules before the day.
