Overview

A walk from East Bergholt towards Flatford, but taking a footpath before reaching the National Trust site to descend into the river valley, and then follow the water meadows to the B1029 road at Dedham Bridge. Crossing the B1029 the route continues to follow the river to reach 'The Street' at Stratford St. Mary. The walk then crosses the A12, using the road bridge, before following the River Stour on the opposite bank to reach Dedham, where there will be a break for refreshments. The route will then continue to East Bergholt via Flatford.
