Overview

This walk is circular starting in Keyworth through Widmerpool and back.

We will be walking through the Keyworth Wolds on footpaths, through fields and some road walking. As we are walking in the wolds there are a few long, gradual inclines, which allow for some nice views (weather permitting).

It is likely to be muddy in places so boots are recommended.

There is only 1 stile.

Dogs are allowed but must be on short leads as we will pass close to fields with horses and also some fields have signs asking for dogs to be on leads.

This is a shorter walk than usual there will not be an "official" coffee break and we will therefore have an earlier lunch than usual so please bring your own provisions.

There is the option for a drink in the Salutation pub after the walk.

The walk will start from Keyworth Village Hall carpark, Elm Avenue Keyworth NG12 5AN. Keyworth is 23mls (30mins) from Newark. Take the A46 south until you reach the A606 junction, take the A606 towards Nottingham. Soon after take the left turn into Station Rd to Widmerpool. On the outskirts of Widmerpool go right onto Widmerpool Lane towards Keyworth. This road becomes Selby Lane and continue down to Keyworth. Elm Avenue is on the right before you reach Keyworth Church (not the methodist chapel).
