We will walk from Tonwell to the Waterford Nature Reserve for the coffee stop. Our route being via Chapmore End and along the edge of an abandoned gravel pit, which is now only used for the occasional rave. After the stop we will continue through the Nature Reserve before joining the path along the river Beane. North of Stapleford the Beane is currently being moved, with islands and bends being introduced in an attempt to improve water quality and biodiversity After inspecting the works we return to Tonwell via Clusterbolt Wood and Stonyhills.
A walk on good paths and quiet lanes. However, at the start and end of the walk we have to cross the A602. When crossing great care will have to be taken,
