A pleasant waterside walk starting along the Basingstoke canal and then along the Wey Navigation (managed by the National Trust) and finally the Thames, starting at West Byfleet and ending at Hampton Court. The route is generally flat, on good footpaths, although, parts of the walk can be muddy after rain.
The scenery is varied, lots of boats and boat clubs, boat yards and tree lined waterways, countryside, weirs and ferry stations.
We will stop for lunch near Walton, there are two pubs, a café, a park with benches and toilets. Although, please bring a packed lunch as there won’t be enough time to order and eat food.
Meet just outside the north exit to Byfleet station (signposted ticket office).
