Overview

Wilsontown Ironworks is a Scheduled Ancient Monument and historic site.  The Forestry Commission, which looks after the site, have created three trails.  The first is Glen Trail, a circular walk on unsurfaced grass paths through a small woodland.  At Wilsontown Village, there is an ornate gateway to the other two trails that take you through the old ironworks land.  These are mostly gravelled surfaces but also some unsurfaced grass paths.  The Quality Row Trail has information boards, and the Peat Pond Path takes you up to a peaceful pond.
