Starting from the car park near the Miner's Standard Pub, the walk starts by going down hill through the picturesque village of Winster, past Market House (the first house preserved by the National Trust in Derbyshire) and across into the valley.
We then climb out of the valley and head through Birchover to Robin Hood's stride and over to Youlgreave, in time for lunch.
Before then walking along the river Bradley, before heading back towards Anthony's Quarry and onwards to Winster via Elton Village.
There are a number of squeezes, rather than stiles throughout the walk. Some of these are quite narrow.
There several steepish climbs; at the beginning, up to Stoop Woods, up to Robin Hood's stride and at the end of the walk heading towards Anthony Quarry and into Elton Village.
