Enjoy walking a picturesque and historical section of of the Stratford Canal followed by an optional Sunday lunch at The Navigation Inn, Wootton Wawen.
From Wootton Wawen we follow the canal for about 2.5 miles before making a loop around the village of Wilmcote, passing by Mary Arden's House, and then returning back along the canal. Its an attractive and interesting stretch of canal with the highlight being the Edstone Aqueduct, which was built in 1816 and is the longest cast iron aqueduct in England.
Easy, flat walking. A few stiles but nothing very tricky. Not very likely to meet livestock. Not likely to be muddy at this time of year. Suitable for well-behaved dogs on leads.
Bring refreshments for a coffee/snack stop.
Anyone planning to eat at the pub afterwards, please let Sheila know by Wednesday 28th June, so a booking can be made.
