Walking in Epsom and Ewell
We are the Epsom and Ewell Group of the Ramblers - one of the 500 Ramblers local groups who help our local community to discover and enjoy walking in the local area and beyond. Our local members are mostly in the Borough of Epsom and Ewell and surrounding districts such as Banstead, Stoneleigh, Worcester Park, Kingswood, Tadworth.
We organise led walks in the beautiful scenery of Surrey and the nearer parts of Sussex and Kent. We often walk in the fine scenery near Epsom, including Epsom and Ashtead Commons, Epsom Downs, Headley Heath, Banstead Woods. A little further away are other areas with great views where we also often walk: The North Downs, The Surrey Hills, the heathlands in the Thursley area and the hills around Hindhead. We are also well placed to enjoy city walks in London and riverside walks along the Thames, Wey, Mole, Hogsmill, Beverley Brook and Wandle rivers.
We aim to offer walks on up to 4 days of the week, all through the year:
- Sundays and Tuesdays: walks of about 5 or 6 miles
- Wednesdays: walks of about 10 miles
- Thursdays: easy short walks of about 2.5 or 3 miles often with a cafe visit afterwards
Non-members are welcome to try up to three Ramblers walks before deciding whether or not to join.
We also occasionally arrange social events and short walking holidays which group members are all invited to. (We have just had a good lunch party and a quiz night is planned in a few weeks time, with a short walking holiday also being planned.)
If you’ve got any questions about this group’s walks, please do get in touch with us.
