Walking in Henley & Goring
Our walks usually cover the area around Henley and Goring, with many walks along the Thames and the Chilterns area, as far north as towards the M40. Our trips and away days cover other areas of course. Everybody is welcome on our walks, as well as our trips and social activities.
Our walking community
Combine healthy exercise with meeting a friendly and sociable group of people! Join Henley & Goring Ramblers for walks in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Enjoy a walk along the Thames, in the hills and beech woods of the Chilterns, through Nature reserves with Red Kites flying overhead, along national trails such as the Ridgeway and the Chiltern Way or the many well signposted paths that crisscross our area.
With over 380 members and more than 30 walk leaders we can provide walks to suit a wide range of tastes and abilities. We publish our programmes 4 times a Year and we have approximately 25 to 30 walks each month. Walks range from 2.5 miles easy strolls to 12-16 miles strenuous hikes with lots of 5-10 miles moderate walks in between. Whatever kind of walks you may be interested in, we can offer them to you!
We organise walking holidays in this country and abroad, away days and long-distance linear routes over a number of weekends. We share transport whenever possible
We work with the Chiltern Society to keep footpaths open. We produce lively monthly E Newsletters and keep members up to date by e-mail. Social activities are an integral part of the programme, with events like an annual BBQ, our Chantry House lecture and social evening, Games evening, Walk leaders’ and AGM dinners.
Our group is very active and if you join our group we will send you our monthly E newsletter with news of all activities for you to join. Check out our Facebook page and web pages.
