Walking in the South Cotswolds
The South Cotswolds is a beautiful area, with rolling hills, the River Severn, the Slad valley, iconic villages like Painswick, and many equally charming but lesser known, quieter villages, canals undergoing restoration and a variety of pubs.
We have the Cotswold Way running through, the Wysis Way, the Laurie Lee Way, the Gloucestershire Way and both the Macmillan and Monarch Ways pass through our region.
It’s a dream location with huge variation and South Cotswold Ramblers make the most of it, walking two or three times a week, with walks varying from leisurely short walks to longer moderate walks. Our Monday walks are gentle 4 mile walks, our mid-week and Saturday walks are longer. Occasionally we walk further afield in the North Cotswolds or the Forest of Dean.
Our walking community
Our group is friendly and welcoming, and full of people with different experiences to draw on, so conversation flows, laughter is heard, knowledge is gained, friends are made, problems are solved. And you get fit in the great outdoors. You would love it!
