The walk starts from Glossop Railway Station and heads through a small housing estate before we reach Manor Park and Old Glossop. After a short while we head along a bridleway before starting the climb up
Doctor's Gate. This climb is roughly 1-1.5 miles and is rocky and narrow in places.
We eventually reach and walk along the Pennine Way, before heading off to The Hern Stones, a rocky outcrop in the middle of the moorland. We then head cross-country for a short time before reaching a
path that leads us along the dramatic valley of Dowstone Clough and Yellowslack. We then descend steeply and make our way back to Glossop via Manor Park again.
