On leaving the pretty village Chinley, we gradually walk up to Back Eccles Lane. Not long after passing by the stately gate of Eccles House, we make a sharp turn onto a scenic track approaching Eccles Pike, where we can enjoy the panoramic view at the summit. We then descend through a couple of fields to the old Bradshaw Hall. We carry on walking, via several fields, up and down slopes, before eventually, we arrive into the picturesque Combs Valley. Afterwards we head for a woody path in between the peaceful Combs Reservoir and the lovely Meveril Brook. On our return, we ascend towards the foot of Eccles Pike before our descent back to Chinley.
