Overview

A walk in and around the lower and higher areas of Lyme Park. Although this walk is shorter than some of the walks we run, it is not suitable for beginners and a level of fitness is required.

Train-based walk 

Leader: Cathryn & Jeremy

Transport to Walk Start: 09:51 train (final destination Buxton) from Manchester Piccadilly.

Meet Point: By the ticket barriers or on the platform at Piccadilly station. Alternatively, meet the group on the train or at the station in Disley.

Suggested Ticket: Off peak day return to Disley £7.90.

Walk Start: Disley Railway Station at 10:25. If you drive, please leave time for parking.

Waypoints: Red Lane Entrance to Lyme Park - Join North Cheshire Way at Elmerhurst Cottage - Hase Bank - Join Gritstone Trail at Knights Low - Bowstonegate - Cock Knoll - Bollinhurst Bridge - Green Lane - Disley Churchyard

Return Services: x:14/15 until 19:14. x:42 from 16:42 until 22:42. Last train at 23:26.

Extra: No toilets at Walk Start or en route. Optional drinks at a pub at the end of the walk.
