This walk is a moderate 9 miles, with mostly mild ascent and descent through out the walk, although couple of climbs are fairly steep. Birtle is a little natural hidden gem in the Borough of Bury, with an old English birch hill, set amongst the Pennines. Our walk takes in miles of expansive rolling hills, luxuriant woods, vivacious water running brooks and a few picturesque lanes.
