Overview

The walk starts at Burns Museum car park. KA7 4PQ  Please note not at Burns Cottage car park!

From the car park we cross the road to enter the old Girvan railway cycle path, towards the path to Greenan Castle and beach.  Continue on the well laid out path , following the beach towards the Millenium bridge.  Although only planning one lunch stop, we can stop for a cuppa if requested! There are lovely views of The Heads of Ayr, Carrick Hills, the town of Ayr and beyond. With Arran across the water, lets hope the weather will be kind?

From the Ayr promenade we will take the path towards the Secret Garden around Doonfoot and cross the road into Belleisle park.  In Belleisle we will have our lunch break at the walled garden and a visit to the park conservatory.  At the golf club tea room they offer sit-in, take away food and of course toilet facilities.

Leaving the Belleisle park a short walk along the pavement, crossing the road to enter on the right the river Ayr path, leading us back to Burns Museum car park.
