At 3,002 feet Ben Vane ( middle hill) is the smallest of all the Munro's, but not the easiest to climb. This is a grade A strenuous, but very rewarding walk. We start by crossing the busy A82 road, then following alongside it for about 1km. Next is a tarmac road leading towards loch Sloy reservoir. After turning left to cross a bridge we reach the start of the hill walk. The ascent is quite challenging with boggy ground at lower levels and plenty of scrambling higher up. Hopefully we will be rewarded with some magnificent views. After reaching the summit we return to the start point by the same route. I strongly recommend the use of walking poles, gaiters and sturdy boots.
