Overview

Rutter Force is a particularly lovely waterfall situated next to an old mill on Hoff Beck just a few miles from Appleby-in-Westmorland. Thanks to the extension of the national park in August 2016 Rutter Force is now part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

In Paul Hannon’s ‘Eden Valley’ walking guide the bank opposite the mill looked to be grass but it is now completely overgrown so the best place to view the waterfall is the footbridge.
