Overview

A shorter walk than usual while I recover from a recent fall. Starting from a layby off the A50, the walk meanders gently along the Trent & Mersey canal, then through woodlands and farmland to slowly climb to Mow Cop castle. A relatively steep drop off takes us to the Macclesfield canal, then past the splendid site of Little Morton Hall, originally built about 1504 and the best preserved Tudor manor house in the country (bring your NT cards in case we can call in for afternoon tea!).
