Leaving the car park, we head West passing through North End on the way to West Woodhay. Here we swing South before a relatively gentle ascent up to the ridge to follow the Wayfarer's Way East, with good views to the North - weather permitting. After about 1 mile, we descend quite steeply towards East Woodhay, turning West then North to meander through parts of Highclere and Woolton Hill, before returning to the car park. The going is generally good, although there are still a few damp stretches, mainly in the woodland. There are 13 stiles on the walk, with most in good condition. And there are some stretches where you can expect to be competing for the path with the local vegetation.
Please bring sufficient food and drink for the day, walking poles may assist on the descent mentioned. If the weather forecast is hot/sunny, please consider bringing extra water.
The walk is limited to 20 walkers, please book using the link.
