Overview

We are walking from the centre of Ashwell to the village nature reserve on the Hinxworth road.  The route out takes in Ashwell Grange and Loves Lane while the return is along the Hinxworth Road and Partridge Hill

The nature reserve is the site of the old clunch pit from which some of the masonry in the church and other village buildings was extracted.  The middle of June is a good time to see the wildflowers and the trust has given us permission to enter the reserve (no dogs allowed).
