Overview

This is a figure of 8 walk. We will use a combination of Public Rights of Way, and NT Permissive Paths.

The morning walk, of about 5.5 miles, will take us via Stone Avenue, down to the Sanctuary.  There is then the opportunity to visit West Kennet Long Barrow.  After this, we return alongside Silbury Hill, and Waden Hill, back to the cars, where we can collect our lunch before the afternoon walk.

This is a walk of about 4.5miles through Avebury Trusloe to the Long Stones and onto Windmill Hill, returning alongside the Winterbourne into Avebury.  This is generally flat walk with one short ascent to Windmill Hill and a gentle ascent to the Long Barrow. Some stiles.

Bring lunch and refreshments.

Poles/sticks may be useful as it is likely to be muddy in part. Chalk can also be slippery when wet. There may be livestock en-route.
