Overview

This walk is part of The Ayrshire Coastal Path.   It is  graded C+ 8 miles in total, but can be shortened at various points en route.    There are no hills on this walk.

We start from Hyndman Road car park (mind the pot holes) and walk along the beach to Portencross, with its medieval peel tower of Portencross Castle.   We then follow a good farm track to Hunterston.   From then on we will walk on pavements and cycle tracks to Largs Marina.   We will return by bus at 1424 from Largs Marina back to the cars, so please remember your bus pass if you have one.
