This is my second attempt at Ben Ledi sunrise walk , defeated last year by the wind, not mine I hasten to repeat. This is entirely weather dependent and I will take final decision Friday night. Long range weather is hopeful.
Ben Ledi 879metres Corbett A walk.
Meeting 11.45 Sat. for 12.01 am Sunday morning.
69miles to Ben Ledi car park for 2.00am.
Via M77, M80 to Stirling, A84 to Callandar continue on for 3 miles to left turn across narrow bridge (Strathyre Cabins ) Then left again to Ben Ledi car park.
I hope everyone is there and ready to roll by 2.15?
Which should give us about 2 hours 15 mins to reach the top for 4.30 sunrise 🌅🤞
We will use the main path which is well defined with steps and paths to the top. Weather permitting we will have wonderful views of the sun rising over the mountains 🤞
Hopefully the weather will be kind to us and we will continue the circular route down Stank Glen. If not we will retrace our steps back down to the car park. The Stank Glen descent is more difficult via rocky paths , a bit boggy at parts before we reach better paths down to Loch Lubnaig .Turn right to road along Loch for about a mile back to car park. There are great views of lochs , waterfalls, and surrounding mountains if the weather is clear.
Boots ,poles and head torches are essential, glow sticks will be supplied for those who want them.
Names need to supplied by everyone who wants to go
I will need to know who is going so lifts can be arranged for those without transport.
People going direct need to register too.
I hope we get some luck with the weather and that we have a wonderful experience.
