Overview

Pre-booking required, by latest 7.30pm the day before, by calling, or texting, the walk leader.

Meet ready for walk off at 10.45 a.m. at Barnes Station ticket office. (The 10.03 from Staines, and other stops, gets to Barnes at 10.35, do check train times yourself though)

A linear walk finishing at Barnes Bridge station for which a return to Barnes is fine. A rural ramble through the woods and rough grassland of Barnes Common then into Chiswick Park, to stop for elevenses at a cafe in the grounds of the historic Chiswick House. After coffee, returning along Chiswick Mall and the banks of the Thames near to Hammersmith Bridge for a picnic, or pub, lunch stop. After lunch we cross Hammersmith Bridge to walk on the other bank of the Thames to Barnes Bridge station for the train home.
